Welcome to the Campus Life Enrichment Committee

The Chairperson of CLEC is Mr. Albert Pertalion, Director, GSU Performing Arts Center.  The Campus Life Enrichment Committee’s mission is to assist in presenting programs of academic enrichment to enhance the educational experience of GSU students.  CLEC’s programming and budget is funded from GSU student activity fees.

CLEC offers grants to help bring to the campus programs of an educational nature whose material may not be found in traditional classroom information.  These grants fund writers, politicians, thinkers and innovators. CLEC can also help larger projects such as new music, drama, and on-going educational projects. CLEC serves individual departments, divisions, and colleges. The men and women chosen for CLEC funding represent many of the world’s leading thinkers and writers. In all its exploration of funding, CLEC carefull considers recommendations from facultry, staff, students and community members.

CLEC Sponsored Departmental Lecture Series

DLS is a series of curriculum-based enrichment lectures presented by academic departments and assisted by CLEC. Programming for the DLS is chosen from proposals requested of CLEC. Faculty, staff, and administrators have two opportunities throughout the school year to submit proposals. The purpose of these CLEC grantsis to expose students to outside experts/professionals and give students a deeper experience in their courses of study. The CLEC (committee) members vote on proposals to fully fund, partially fund, or deny funding. The CLEC committee specifically looks for a broad range of topics from GSU departments, divisions and colleges that will of be beneficial and of interest to all students expected or required to attend.  Other students, faculty and townspersons are also welcome to these lectures or performances.
