Professional Achievement Awards

Qualifications of Nominee:
  • Recipient must work primarily in Georgia and must be a member of GAEA.
  • Recipient must be a professional in the field of Adult/Continuing Education
Criteria for Award:
  • Recognizes significant professional performance that covers a broad scope and has a direct impact on Adult/Continuing Education.
  • Judges on the basis of job performance and involvement with professional organizations.
  • Nominations must specify number of years in Adult/Continuing Education.
Award for less than five years experience:
  • Recipient must have worked less than five years in the field of Adult/Continuing Education.
Award for 5 or more years experience:
  • Recipient must have worked five years or more in the field of Adult/Continuing Education.
Distinguished Service to GAEA

Qualifications of Nominee:
  • Recipient is required to be a member of GAEA.
Criteria for Award:
  • Recognizes dedicated and noteworthy service to the work of GAEA. Nomination should specify tasks performed, scope of involvement, impact of service.
Exemplary Contribution to Adult/Continuing Education

Qualifications of Nominee:
  • Recipient must work primarily in Georgia (not required to be a member of GAEA)
Criteria for Award:
  • Recognizes one specific outstanding service or professional contribution which has advanced Adult/Continuing Education.
  • Judged on the basis of impact of this specific service to varied aspects of Adult/Continuing Education (program development, program delivery, audience impact, instructional content, residual impact, evaluation).
Outstanding Adult Educator in Georgia

Qualifications of Nominee:
  • Recipient must work primarily in Georgia and must be a member of GAEA.
  • Recipient must have at least ten years of professional experience in the field of Adult/Continuing Education.
Criteria for Award:
  • This is the most prestigious GAEA recognition for professional accomplishment.
  • Recognizes extraordinary contributions on a long-term basis that have an extensive impact on Adult/Continuing Education.
President’s Award

Qualifications of Nominee:
  • Recipient must be a support staff person who is a member of GAEA and who has worked in Adult/Continuing Education for at least three years. Nomination information must specify the number of years in the field.
  • Person making the nomination must be a member of GAEA.
Criteria for Award:
  • Recognizes outstanding service in the field of Adult/Continuing Education.
