A block of rooms has been reserved for GERA attendees at the Courtyard by Marriott for October 23, 24 and 25. The group rate for these rooms is $149.00 per night plus applicable taxes. Queen (two beds) or king (one bed) rooms are available. Reservations must be received by September 23, 2008 to receive the reduced room rate. Please be sure to request the room rate for the Georgia Educational Research Association.

NOTE: The Courtyard by Marriott and the Coastal Georgia Center (site of the conference) are basically across the street from one another. The hotel is on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Liberty Street. If you stand on the corner and look across MLK, you will see the Savannah Visitors Center. The Coastal GA Center is right behind the Visitors Center. The Visitors Center is quite a long facility, so you should allow yourself about 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the Coastal GA Center because you will have to wait for the light to cross MLK. When you reach the sidewalk in front of the Visitors Center, turn to your right and walk just past the front of the Visitors Center until you come to a short staircase. Walk down the steps and then using the sidewalk that runs along the side of the Visitors Center, walk down the length of it to reach the Coastal GA Center.
