Distinguished Paper Award

General Information: The Georgia
Educational Research Association is again participating in the Distinguished
Paper Session sponsored by the State and Regional Educational Research
Associations, a Special Interest Group of the American Educational
Research Association. Participation requires state and regional associations
to select a distinguished paper that reflects the high quality of
research presented at state and regional conferences. The GERA, 2008,
winning paper is guaranteed a slot at a SRERA session at the Annual
AERA, 2008 Conference. Papers submitted for the Award competition
must also be separately submitted for presentation at the GERA, 2008,
Meeting.
Eligibility: Registration for
the GERA, 2008, Meeting is required. The author will present the
winning paper at the GERA, 2008, Meeting and at the AERA, 2009, Meeting
to be held in TBA.
Papers may have more than one author. Individuals may be first author
on only one paper being considered for this award.
Criteria: Criteria for selecting
a winning paper will be the same as used by reviewers of various
scholarly journals publishing articles related to educational research.
A wide variety of topics and research methods pertaining to educational
research are appropriate for this competition. As a rule, papers
do not generally exceed 30 pages (including references, tables, figures,
etc.) and must follow APA style.
Application Procedure: To enter
the competition, send an electronic copy of your paper as an attachment
in Microsoft Word document format to: Dr.

Include on the cover page the following
statement:
"Submitted for GERA Distinguished Paper Award."
