If you would like to be a presenter, whether solo or as a panel, please note that the submissions deadline is Wednesday, October 15. Submissions will be accepted online only -- please click {HERE} to go to the Call for Proposals page.

The conference runs all day on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Nessmith-Lane Continuing Education Building on the Georgia Southern University campus in Statesboro, Georgia.

Conference Focus

  • Workshops and presentations about teaching writing in high school and college.
  • Our Audience is: Southeastern U.S., and beyond: college, technical school, technical/community college,
    and high school teachers, administrators, and media specialists, as well as
    graduate students.

Mission

The Student Success in First-Year Composition Conference is designed to promote the success of students in their post-secondary English composition courses. The conference seeks to establish and maintain dialogue between college and high school educators. We are committed to offering practical, strategy-oriented teaching workshops, as well as theoretical presentations of composition topics that focus on the link between high school and college.
