COMPONENTS OF POSTER SESSIONS
Each poster presentation will be provided with a 6' x 3' table draped
with a white tablecloth and skirted in dark blue an easel. You should
prepare a display - a poster and/or a display board (ex: science fair
board). Translation: you could make a poster and then use the table for
displaying handouts if you don't want to create a board. OR, you may
feel free to do both - put your name and title on the poster and then
make a display board with handouts in front of it. (Your display could
include a statement of the problem, objectives of the project or research,
the methodology used to solve the problem or implement the program, the
major findings or outcomes and their significance, and conclusions. There
should be a logical sequence: Introduction, Development, Conclusion.)
DESIGN ELEMENTS: The title heading should be at least 1-1/2" high. It
should include the title of the poster session and all author?s names
and institutional affiliations. (Optional idea: An abstract could appear
on the top left-hand corner of the board. Visual elements are encouraged.
Simplicity and legibility are important for the viewer. Color combinations
should be carefully considered for readability. Lettering should be simple,
bold, and easily legible from a distance of three feet. Directional arrows
can help the viewer in following the sequence.
HANDOUTS: You MUST provide handouts for those visiting
your display.
