Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s: What Every Health Care Provider Should Know
is a one-day educational event for those who want to gain a greater understanding of dementia-related conditions.

Caregivers, nurses, dieticians, counselors, social workers, nursing home administrators will be able to:

  • Discriminate among the terms: dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and forgetfulness.
  • Describe symptoms that commonly occur with Alzheimer’s disease/ dementia based on brain damage.
  • Recognize behaviors that are indicative of dementia related conditions.
  • Demonstrate seven key components in a positive physical approach when working with a person with dementia.
