would like to WELCOME BACK Teepa Snow as our 2009 Keynote Speaker. Teepa
Snow is an occupational therapist currently serving as a dementia care and
dementia education specialist.
Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s: What Every Health Care Provider Should Know is a one-day educational event for those who want to gain a greater
understanding of dementia-related conditions.
Caregivers, nurses, dieticians, counselors, social workers, nursing home administrators will be able to:
- Discriminate among the terms: dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and forgetfulness.
- Describe symptoms that commonly occur with Alzheimer’s disease/ dementia based on brain damage.
- Recognize behaviors that are indicative of dementia related conditions.
- Demonstrate seven key components in a positive physical approach when working
with a person with dementia.
