WHO SHOULD ATTEND
FIBER OPTIC ASSOCIATION APPROVED TRAINING
Georgia Southern University's Continuing Education Center, in partnership with BDI DataLynk (FOA Approved School # 208), has offered a range of Certified Fiber Optic Technician and Specialist classes since 2008. FOA certifications are widely respected for their comprehensive coverage of the knowledge, skills and abilities course members need, a result of the FOA having access to the most experienced and knowledgeable people in fiber optics to help develop FOA programs. Schools cover subjects appropriate to the course description, providing proper course materials and FOA-certified instructors.

Certified Fiber Optic Specialist Outside Plant (CFOS/O)

Learn how to properly install networks connected by outside fiber optic cabling, whether underground (pulled in conduit), direct-buried (trenching or plowing), aerial or underwater (submarine.) Required: you must already have passed the FOA CFOT Course or any other formal Fiber Optics training course within previous 6 months, or have at least one year of fiber optics related experience.

Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T)

Ready to advance to testing and maintaining fiber optics networks? Required: you must already have passed the FOA CFOT Course or any other formal Fiber Optics training course within previous 6 months, or have at least one year of fiber optics related experience.

Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Splicing (CFOS/S)
Learn high performance splicing and the points necessary to achieve these splices. Required: you must already have passed the FOA CFOT Course or any other formal Fiber Optics training course within previous 6 months, or have at least one year of fiber optics related experience.
