Mathematics for Economics (Math Boot Camp)
This course is intended as a "refresher" for
students in the Master of Science in Applied Economics program at Georgia
Southern University. This 6 - week intensive course will be offered online beginning in May, 2010.
Topics covered include: Mathematical Models in Economics, Linear
Models and Matrix Algebra, Comparative Statics, Derivatives, Differentiation
Rules, Optimization, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Maximization
of Multivariate Functions, Constrained Optimization. The course is offered
as a non-credit course.

Computer Requirements:
- Computer running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista or Macintosh OS X
- Computer running MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Sun (TM) Java (TM) Runtime - get from java.com
- Preferred: Cable or DSL internet access.
- If your internet service provider uses only dial-up, a minimum of 56K connection rate is preferred.
- You will also need to disable your pop-up blocker during the course.
