Essay Writing for the SAT
Understanding the fundamentals of how to write a clear, well organized essay is crucial to scoring well on the SAT. By focusing on basic grammar, improving verbal skills, and language fluency, you will learn to write logical essays with strong and creative thesis statements that score high on college entrance exams.

Critical Reading Prep for the SAT
Success on the SAT depends in large part upon having strong reading skills. This six-week course focuses on strategies in active reading that pertain specifically to the SAT. While improving their vocabulary, students will also learn to identify key words, recognize main ideas/themes, draw conclusions, and make inferences. Plenty of classroom opportunity to improve these skills will result in an enhanced ability to read critically for increased comprehension, enabling students to approach the SAT with confidence and the tools needed for optimal results.
Students will need to purchase The Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd edition (Paperback, approximately $12) and bring this book to the first class.

Math Prep for the SAT
This six week course will give students the necessary practice, thinking strategies, and skills development needed for maximizing their score on the mathematics portion of the S.AT. Students will review and practice the skills, concepts, and problem types most likely to be included on the SAT exam. They will review the use of various formulas essential to solving problems and receive information on effective strategies for increasing the likelihood of answering problems correctly. They'll not only have plenty of opportunity for practice tests in class but will also learn exercises for relieving test anxiety.
Students will need to purchase The Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd edition (Paperback, approximately $12) and bring this book to the first class.
