Computer Requirements
- Computer running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista or Macintosh OS X
- Computer running MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Sun (TM) Java (TM) Runtime - get from java.com
- Preferred: Cable or DSL internet access.
- If your internet service provider uses only dial-up, a minimum of
56K
connection rate is preferred. - You will also need to disable your pop-up blocker during the course.

CONTENT AND CERTIFICATION FAQs
- Do I have to belong to a specific profession to take the OSS
training?
No. Although the training is intended for septic tank contractors/installers and for environmental health division personnel working for the state of Georgia, it may be useful for personnel in general contracting, safety or other fields. All are welcome.
- Are Professional Development/Continuing Education Units available
for personnel completing the OSS?
Professional Development/CEU certificates will be provided to each participant who completes the end-of-course quiz with 100%. These certificates are designed specifically for personnel needing recertification hours as septic tank contractors. If you work in another profession, please contact seminars@georgiasouthern.edu for information about your CEUs.
- If I don't earn 100% the first time I take the end-of-course quiz, may I re-take it?
Yes. You may re-study the material and re-take the quiz as many times as you want during the 30 days that you are registered as a course participant.
- Why was the course designed to require a 100% pass rate on the quiz?
This course is designed to ensure that septic tank contractors and environmental health specialists are competent and well-trained in vital issues in their professions. Georgia's Department of Human Resources personnel have reviewed the course content and quiz, and have approved each course as providing essential training that will ensure you stay current on safety and other key elements of your workplace environment.
REGISTRATION FAQs
- Can I register online?
To register electronically via our secure website, simply complete the online registration form, including providing your VISA or MasterCard billing information. If you encounter problems registering online, please send an e-mail to ltyler@georgiasouthern.edu or call 912.681.5551.
- Can I pay by mailing a check?
Yes. Non-electronic methods of registration and payment are completing and faxing the registration form or calling 912.681.5551 (credit card payment only) or mailing the completed form to Georgia Southern University with your check or money order. Once your payment has been processed, your access to the class will be turned on.
- I
haven't received a registration confirmation who do I contact?

- What is the cancellation policy?
No refunds will be issued after you have been provided with the course access information. If you have questions, you may call 912.681.5551. No refunds will be given for persons purchasing a course but not accessing it.
