- Understanding of the main categories of wastewater characteristics:
Biological
Chemical
Physical - Knowledge of how the parameters of the sewage/wastewater impact the preferred method of treatment. Familiarity with the various testing mechanisms for determining the characteristics of sewage including when each are needed.
- You will learn about the biological, chemical and physical characteristics of wastewater. Issues in wastewater quality include pH, temperature, Biological Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids and flow rates. You will find out how each of these parameters affects the treatability of wastewater .
