For its first dozen years, Georgia Southern University hosted the Student Success in First-Year Composition conference in our home town of Statesboro. In 2011 we expanded the focus of the conference to serve students in writing courses throughout high school and college. We also moved the conference to Georgia's first city, Savannah.
2012 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Sandra Jamieson, Professor of English, Director of Composition, and Department Chair at Drew University, Madison, NJ has accepted our invitation to deliver the keynote address at the 2012 Student Success in Writing Conference.Conference Focus

- Our audience includes 2-year and 4-year college faculty, high school teachers, administrators, media specialists, and graduate students in the Southeastern United States and beyond

Mission
The Student Success in Writing Conference is designed to promote the success of students in writing courses at the secondary and postsecondary levels. The conference also seeks to establish and maintain dialogue between college and high school educators.
We are committed to offering practical workshops and theoretical presentations on topics related to the teaching and craft of writing.
We encourage proposals from teachers and professional writers interested in:
