About the Flying Eagles Travel Program

Travel photos

The "Flying Eagles" have been aloft since March 1991 when the first group traveled to the USSR. While the first trips to USSR, Greece, London, and Egypt did not have a name, the group soon became know as the "Flying Eagles" in acknowledgement of the Georgia Southern Eagles and the members' attachment to the University. The title "Flying Eagles" was a natural! The first Continuing Education trip to USSR was followed in the next years with trips to Italy, Spain, Paris, the Scottish Highlands, the Antarctica and Easter Island. The "Flying Eagles" group has thirty-three trips under its belt. A complete list of trips and dates are listed if you CLICK HERE. Over 570 participants who have made these trips have learned a lot about the countries they visited and made their own great memories. The "Flying Eagles" participants have always been great ambassadors for Georgia Southern University. Facilitated by energetic and knowledgeable faculty and staff, such as Richard Keithley, John McRae and Sybil Fickle who have a long history with the program.
