Educational Programming
The Georgia Southern Museum offers a variety of educational programs to appeal to children, adults, families, and teachers.
Interactive, hands-on programs for K-12 school groups allow children to explore the Museum's
permanent
natural history collection and all
changing exhibits. Correlated to the Georgia Performance Standards,
these programs are free and are accompanied by teacher's guides that suggest related in-class activities. The Museum also offers
educational trips for adults and families. These special
programs cover topics as varied as science, local history, and art. Through its
outreach programs, Project SENSE and Project BESST, the Museum
offers training to area science teachers and access to comprehensive science activity kits for the classroom. The museum's
Native American Festival, is a wonderful opportunity to experience both ancient and modern native american cultures.
