The Georgia Southern Museum offers school tours for public, private, and home school groups of all ages. Each program is a hands-on, interactive exploration that makes use of resources available at the Museum and at Georgia Southern University. We correlate all our programs to the Georgia Quality Core Curriculum or Georgia Performance Standards and provide complementary teaching materials for classroom use.
Most programs can accommodate a maximum of 30 children and run 30-45 minutes. Often, the Museum is able to serve larger groups by combining programs or working with other facilities at Georgia Southern. There is no charge for school tours. Please call Ruby Ashley or Keisha Leitzsey at (912) 478-5444 to schedule a school tour or discuss your group's needs.
An all-weather picnic pavillion is available at no charge to school groups through the Campus Recreation and Intramurals department. You must make reservations well in advance, by faxing this printable form directly to CRI (912) 478.1892. CRI Reservation Form
Homeschool Groups: Homeschool families are encouraged to visit the museum informally at any time. Groups of homeschool students and homeschool associations may schedule educational tours in the same way that public and private school teachers make group reservations. Programs may be modified to accomodate a broader span of age/learning levels within a homeschool group.
Unique Adventures (tied to our changing exhibits)
